Claire Scott’s Comments

I am very interested in flipping the expected. Changing the hero of Hansel and Gretel from Hansel to Gretel. Seeing the excitement of Christmas take a turn to loss and violence. Or a gift box become a devastating message of rejection. I am interested in working with blurry boundaries and liminal space. Who is the real “you” and are you sure? Which version is truly ours. The bad news from a doctor or the life that continues easily along. Or perhaps there are parallel lives. I like to surprise the reader in a good way and I hope these poems accomplish that.
