Coastline Paradox
Zebulon Huset

The sharper the knife
the less you cry.
                          Quick and clean.

While miles from painless,
split cells begin to stitch
                          themselves whole
             immediately—or

             attempt to regrow
             their exactly excised bits.

Whereas a rough
             tearing apart will
leave a messy coastline
                                       paradox—with each
             magnification—each
                          trivial moment
             focused upon—
all loss that had been
             previously measured
                                       is compounded
