Scarlett Peterson’s Comments

These poems, like many others, came from a part of my life that I’d hidden for too long. I feel like women writing about sex in any mode are often criticized more heavily than we are when we write about conventional, more delicate things. I’m not a delicate woman, and I’m not ashamed to say that I am a sexual person, and that I believe sexuality has a place in literary realms.
