Now the Scientists Say:
Iris Litt

Now the scientists say:
I may see you again!
Scientifically impossible?
They say that on their deathbed
people meet the dead in a tunnel of light.
Are you waiting there?
65 years, I’d call that Gone but maybe
there’s a different scale in eternity.
They say there you’ll be
young blond smiling big arms open
transparent maybe, landscape showing
through you like an undeveloped photo.
I won’t argue. Science says:
I may see you again!
I say: Okay. See you. Whenever.
