Michael Meyerhofer’s Comments
I think that one of the biggest necessities of writing is collecting odd facts in your mental toolbox (like the amount of iron we have in our blood or the total amount of gold on earth), and bringing them out when they fit. In a way, I suppose thats not really all that different from collecting the peripheral sadness we feel when our favorite singer or boxer dies, even though we didnt know them personally, since grief (as pretentious as this sounds) can always serve as a metaphor or fractal for something else. Basically, we bumble around collecting griefs and wonders and trying to turn them into something.
