Jennifer Finstrom’s Comments

I wrote all four of these poems in a workshop with Richard Jones at DePaul University. In that workshop, we talked considerably about form and line length, and I experimented quite a bit with how these poems appeared. To this day, I find that changing a poem’s form or shape on the page as I’m revising it often helps me find what is, I hope, the most effective way for it to convey its story.
