Archetypes of Will
Sam Rasnake

—Rembrandt, Judith Beheading Holofernes, pen drawing, c. 1653

These deliberate

       truths of ink on

paper remove all

       doubt from her

eyes—and here is

       the deed: such

a deep and final

       cut while sleeping,

—even warriors must

       have their dreaming—

both hands clear in

       their devising as if

to say that time will

       never be enough
