Gail Peterson’s Comments

For me, the writing—and, notably, the rewriting—of poems is fun, a great puzzle to fit together “affectively,” in the hope of showing a reader someplace new to both of us. I have no problem cutting “beloved” hard-won ideas for the discovery of better ones, and have learned to love (and grow in) the process.
