kruidnagel, two hats
Lauren Marie Stevens

there is a eastern european liquor called kruidnagel because it is made of
cloves, and in very many places they call cloves nails or spice nails which is
what kruidnagel means. and when you drink kruidnagel, it feels like spice nails.
right in your belly. especially if it is january and the menace with a strawberry hat
accidentally pushes the scatalogically-preoccupied kiwi-without-an-accent into
the dark cold holland canal when they wrestle on the knoll, and you end up
weeping a lot and fighting over the weird map and lose your hats together some
time over the course of the night, the strawberry one and the salmon colored
one so that they float forever in the holland canal on that terrible day.
