Mark Lipowicz’s Comments
For
me, poems are a window to understanding and appreciating experience,
whether real or imagined. The one about the compass, I really do get lost
every time I go to Seattle, the hills and the mysterious highway exits,
to an extent that the places I get lost have become familiar, Tutwilla?
The tsunami poem was not an actual experience when I wrote it;
unfortunately since then many people suffered in a real tsunami,
as well
as hurricanes and other disasters. The truck poem, relationships
can be
like walking on eggshells, but is there love behind them? Dolly,
I was
thinking of the cloned sheep, and technology in our lives. It’s
great
but how much is enough?
