I also burn
I also burn with the fever
of a thousand suns
beneath my skin, a raging sea
seethes for release.
I am consumed by the tremors of
this shifting earth. My hands tremble,
my eyes are blinded
in the glare of obsidian shadows.
In every attempt I make to bridge
this strange divide, I am bloodied
by the broken pieces of an itinerant reality.
Then, let me mark your body
to the time of my errant beating heart
for beyond this moment, there is still
death and forever.
